 A new Khan in town........
See hot hunk Imran Khan as he goes shirtlessPublished by Tony at 11:40:57 am on July 14, 2008 Fans of newcomer Imran Khan will indeed be mesmerised by the following picture, taken from the forthcoming flick Luck As you can see, the lovable actor will be showing off his muscular side… something that the audience did not witness in his debut flick Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. Imran has been working hard to get into shape by going to the gym and eating a balanced diet. This is quite a turnaround for the youngster who was always known as skinny kid during his schooldays. A source says, “Imran was skinny as a teen. He didn’t have the frame he has now. In fact, he loves to eat but doesn’t put on much weight. For Jaane Tu, he was asked to remain lean for the young chocolate boy look. However for his upcoming films, he has to tone up his body." In Luck Imran will go shirtless, as shown in the picture, and will show off his tattoo that was not visible in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. Imran himself says, “My character in Jaane Tu was not someone who’d get himself inked. As a result, I had to use make-up to hide it or cover it with my shirt and T-shirt. But in Luck, I will be seen in a vest and my character in this action flick is such that he can have a tattoo." When asked when he had this tattoo done, Imran reveals, “At that time there were no tattoo parlours like today. My friend and I am have been inked in a similar way on the nape of the neck. In fact, he designed it and we had to go to a doctor to get it done. At that time, we were the very few who got ourselves inked. Now of course, everyone’s into it." Luck is being directed by Soham Shah of Kaal fame and produced by Ashtavinayak. It is an action thriller with a cast of mainly males. Sanjay Dutt is rumoured to be the bad guy in the flick with Mithun Chakraborty as a retired army officer. Kamal Hassan’s much beautiful daughter Shruti will be making her debut opposite Imran in the film.

 A new Khan in town........
Imran says Aamir was the Pappu By: Subhadeep Bhattacharjee Wednesday, July 9 2008 Imran Khan has had a dream debut with his movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na breaking all Box Office records set for the year. Mamu Aamir who is also the producer of the movie is impressed. Recently the actor was quizzed on who was the Pappu in the famous 'Pappu can't dance' song. The actor candidly replied it was none other than Aamir. The song had created much of a controversy when many believed it made fun of Salman. Aamir had to later come and clarify that the song had nothing to do with Salman. When Aamir and Imran appeared in Salman's 10 Ka Dum their onscreen chemistry showed that there was no undercurrent between the two stars.

Re: A new Khan in town........
My Name is Khan By: Shaheen Parkar Date: 27 Jun, 2008 | Momma's Boy: Imran Khan |
For the past couple of days, Jaane Tu debutant Imran Khan has been doing a lot of talking. He has lost count of the media interactions he has done as the countdown for his film's release nears.
At his Pali Hill home (his late grandfather Nasir Hussain's residence) over mouthfuls of fresh fruit, he says he is extremely cool about the big moment of his life as we ask him... What have you planned for your big day? Nothing. I am not superstitious. In fact, right till the premiere I will be travelling for the promotions to London and Dubai. Then we go across the country for the post-release publicity. There must be something worrying you as the countdown nears? The fact that I have to be all suited and booted on the premiere night. I have lived my life in jeans, T-shirts and floaters. The very thought of wearing a suit is enough to cause me stress.
My stylist has come up with several options and I have yet to decide. Luckily, in Jaane Tu, I had a casual look and in my two other films, Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap and Soham Shah's Luck, the characterisations did not require dressing up. There's so much known about you and your uncles (Aamir and Mansoor Khan) and mother (Nuzhat Khan), but little is known about your father? That's because my parents are divorced. My father's name is Anil Pal he is a Bengali. He lives overseas and is with Yahoo! My parents separated when I was very young. But I share an extremely cordial relationship with my father. In fact when he's in town, he's with us. Your mother later married actor Raj Zutshi? Yes, but they are now divorced. It is over two years. I share a cordial relationship with him too. So it has always been my mum and her side of the family. Why do you call yourself Khan? And not Pal? In a sense, my mother has been a single parent to me, so it has been my mother all the way. That's the reason it's Khan. What was your most memorable shot for Jaane Tu? My first shot. It was with co-actor Manjari and both of us had to walk through the Colaba woods. Sadly, it does not exist in the film! I tried my best but Abbas (director) said it did not gel with the flow. I have been told that what Harman shot for the first time for Love Story 2050 is also not there in his film. Have you ever met Harman? No, I don't know him nor have I bumped into him. I do know people who know Harman and talk highly of him. My Jaane Tu co-star Genelia is also Harman's actress in Sanjay Kapoor's film. She tells me he's a cool guy. My hairstylist Ayesha also styles Harman's hair. She tells me he is sweet. I have heard only good things about him. But you are battling him for the box-office stakes? That is what it is being made out to be. We are not running a race. Several films can release on the same day and still do well. At the end, what the audience likes, matters. Are you satisfied with your performance in Jaane Tu? I belong to that section of people who are never satisfied. I have seen Jaane Tu umpteen times. Every time there is this feeling that I could have done each and every scene better. But then, ultimately, I leave it to the director. If he is happy then I guess it's okay. If not an actor, you would be...? A director, that's what I initially wanted to be. But it had to be something to do with films. Maybe it was because I used to hang around on my uncles' sets. I have grown up on their films. I rate Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak as their best. What is the one big change in your life now? Being photographed. The other night at an event everyone was taking my snaps. My girlfriend (Avantika Malik) was also being photographed! It appears odd but guess I will have to get used to this now.

Re: A new Khan in town........
WHEN LOVE STRIKES NO HEAVY DUTY INTRODUCTION NEEDED. All those who love the movies are aware that a new hero has hit show town. Called ‘cute' and ‘adorable', especially by the campus crowd, he's handling adulation with gratitude and a sense of wonderment - aah, this has happened to me. Without much more ado then, here's Imran Khan in conversation with Roshmila Bhattacharya Hiding Avantika would have been disrespectful to her.. and Aamir agreed You've scored one of the year's biggest hits. Surprised? Yeah, especially when I'm told that tickets are selling in black. I thought black marketeers had gone out of business. It's a simple, small film, almost like a student film. When we watched the first rough cut with Mansoor (Khan) and Aamir (Khan), at the end of three hours, Abbas (director Abbas Tyrewala) and I looked at each other in horror, we thought, "We're dead!" Aamir reassured us, "You don't see it yet but you've made a very good film." But that night Abbas and I didn't sleep. We slept only after the second cut when the film began taking shape. To think it would be a blockbuster? Nah! You're driving a BMW these days. Were you overwhelmed by the gift from mamu Aamir? It was a shock. Aamir had messaged, asking me to drop by with my parents and Avantika (girlfriend Avantika Malik). He needed to discuss certain changes he wanted to incorporate after the release. After 10-15 minutes, he walked me to the balcony and pointed down, "What do you think?" It was a white BMW. It was one of those slo-mo moments. Aamir smiled, "It's for you." I refused to believe him till he gave me the keys.

Actor Imran Khan was seen in a chocolate boy role in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na , but what has caught everyone's fancy is his bad man avatar in the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Kidnap . The cute, fair Imu is looking a little tanned in this one, sporting a stubble and his tattoo is well in focus. The actor has the tattoo of a sun cross, which he got done much before the age of tattoo salons and all that jazz. "I got my tattoo done from Colaba. There weren't salons then. And it hurt real bad because mine is closer to the bone!" So let's just check out this bad man in Kidnap who has got half the population – men and women – hypnotized already!

Re: A New Khan In Town........
A Gen-Y Khan is BornAniruddh Chawda, Aug 17, 2008 JAANE TU … YA JAANE NA. Director: Abbas Tyrewala. Players: Imran Khan, Genelia D’Souza, Manjari Phadnis, Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, Ratna Pathak Shah. Music: A.R. Rahman. Theatrical release. Offspring or other relatives of famous names in Hindi films have had mixed success at stardom. Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, and Abhishek Bachchan are only a handful of “star-sons” who have gained stardom. Enter Jaane Tu, and producer Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan. Lanky, pretty, and camera-shy, Imran Khan nicely bridges a successful generational transition in a pedigreed family that reaches back half a century to famed director (Aamir Khan’s uncle) Nasir Hussain’s 1957 Tumsa Nahin Dekha. Writer/director/lyricist Tyrewala is perfectly in groove with a Gen-Y mindset (and the film’s target audience) in delightfully exploiting a career-and-romance catharsis that plagues recent graduates. The decidedly middle-class upperclassman Jai (Imran Khan) likes nothing better than spending time with his goofy co-ed homies who are anchored by Jai’s on-again, off-again, rich best friend Aditi (D’Souza). Jai and Aditi’s undefined alliance and friendship is put to task when each of them begins dating someone else.
Tyrewala’s filming style never waivers from the teen worldview. All parties, all characters, and just about every scene is brought to focus through the kaleidoscopic gaze of the recent college grad. Jai’s widowed mother (Pathak Shah), for example, has an on-going row with a vengeful cop played by Rawal, who nails that mean, uniformed, constable your parents always told you to stay away from. Jai’s late father (Shah, Pathak’s real life husband) comes to “life” as a life-size portrait with which Jai’s mother has funny and life-affirming conversations. Jaane Tu also goes on record as one of no less than half a dozen A.R. Rahman Hindi scores for 2008—itself an event for a musician who of late has only had time for one or two Hindi soundtracks in any given year. Compared to the saber-rattling, mature and medieval chord Rahman struck with Jodhaa Akbar, Jaane Tu is like a cakewalking, dance-happy, teeny bopper, all-night house party. From Rashid Ali’s confessional campus ditty “Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi” to the bring-it-on foot stomping craze ignited by “Pappu Can’t Dance,” a Rahman album hasn’t been this youth-friendly since 2002’s Saathiya. Both Imran Khan and D’Souza grapple with their roles well. Their best support comes from Shah who—even playing dead—makes sure his son carries on honorable (and some not too honorable) family traditions, and also Rawal as the foul-mouthed, gruff, grown-up neighborhood bully. The flashback motif employed in the opening sequence sustains the romantic suspense until the very end. Opening to both critical and box-office raves, both Jaane Tu and Imran Khan make excellent additions to a film dynasty that has to their credit such luminous historical hits as Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai (1961), Caravan (1971), Yaadon Ki Baraat (1973), Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin (1977), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (1992), Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak(1988), and Taare Zameen Par (2007). All rise for a thunderous applause. Page 1 of 1 | Globe trekker, aesthete, photographer, ski bum, film buff, and commentator Aniruddh Chawda writes from Milwaukee. |

Re: A New Khan In Town........
| BOLLYWOOD NEWS | | | Muzaffar wants Imran By MovieTalkies.com, 27 August 2008 | | Director Muzaffar Ali is ready to say 'action' all over again. The director, who has not made a film in ages, is apparently very eager to attack history once again and make a film on the Noorjehan Jehangir romance. According to sources, the director is believed to be working on the script currently. But what is really making news is the fact that the director is very keen to cast actor Imran Khan in the role of the Mughal emperor Jehangir. The maker has already finalised veteran Anupam Kher for the role of Emperor Akbar. The actress for Noorjehan is yet to be decided on. It seems that the director was first keen on casting actor Kunal Kapoor in the role but then decided in favour of Imran.
The young actor however is currently shooting in South Africa for his film Luck, which is directed by Soham Shah. Ali is expected to approach him on his return. Ali is best known for his 1981 classic Umrao Jaan, whose magic JP Dutta tried to re create but failed. His last film was one called Zooni, which starred Dimple Kapadia and Vinod Khanna and was shelved after one third of the film was canned. But after spending some years in designing clothes, the director is ready to go back to films and what better than a historical love story. |

| Century For Emraan´s ´Jannat´ And Half Century For Imran´s ´Jaane Tu... ´! | | - Abid |
Vishesh Films and Mahesh Bhatt's Emraan Hashmi, Javed Shekh and Sonal Chauhan starrer, the super-hit 'Jannat', completed 100 days of its run last week. The film produced by Mukesh Bhatt and directed by Kunal Deshmukh has music by Pritam. If that was not enough, PVR Films' and Aamir Khan's Abbas Tyrewala directed Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza starrer, 'Jaane Tu Ya... Ya Jaane Na', has now completed 50 day of its run this week and still counting! The blockbuster hit has music by A.R. Rahman. Well, it appears that Emraan and Imran have managed to bring back-to-back joy to Bollywood, just before the lean month of 'Ramzaan'.!
