Southern beauty Asin, who is looking forward to her mega budget Bollywood release "London Dreams", says she chooses her roles carefully as she doesn't want to do anything vulgar or indecent.

"I would never do something that is baseless, vulgar and indecent... something I am not comfortable doing and therefore can't do justice with," Asin told IANS.

"When I choose a film, my criteria are script, role, director, producer and then co-artist. Language or financial issues never determine what film I want to do," she added.

Ghajini gal Asin Thottumkal will be seen romancing opposite Junior Bachchan in Ashutosh Gowariker's upcoming flick 'Khelein Hum Ji Jaan Sey", which is based on the Chittagong uprising.

Abhishek Bachchan will be donning the character of Surjya Das in the film.

Previously, Gowarikar offered the same role to Abhishek's real-life wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

A source said, "This will be the first time that Abhishek and Asin will be paired opposite each other. The film's first schedule will tentatively start around November 25."

New Delhi, Oct 4 After working with Aamir Khan in her Bollywood debut "Ghajini", southern beauty Asin will now be seen with Salman Khan in "London Dreams". She says while the two superstars are very similar as people, their working styles are poles apart.

"As people, there are a lot of similarities between Aamir and Salman. Both are extremely warm, very friendly and down to earth. Not at all pretentious," Asin told IANS over telephone from Mumbai.

“Hey There Asin Thottumkal Is Using Twitter,” declares the latest social networking  website, and then goes on to give us gems like “I want to act in Tamil movie” from the actress.

There’s just one problem. Asin is not on Twitter…or any of the social networking websites. And she can’t laugh off the impersonations any longer.

Asin has a very serious problem. She has impersonators on all the major social-networking websites. “I was ready to overlook these fake IDs using my name as long as they weren’t harmful. But now the problem is getting out of hand.”

It was Asin who made a rolling start of her career in Bollywood with Aamir Khan starrer- Ghajini, the Hindi remake of Tamil flick which starred Surya in it. Meanwhile, Asin was shining bright in Bollywood; Trishna was waiting for the right project to come her way so that she can jump into the competition with her southern counterpart in the world of Bollywood.

But now the wait is over for Trishna as she has been signed by non-other-than director Priyadarshan for his upcoming flick Katta Meeta, wherein superstar Akshay Kumar will be paired with the gorgeous lady. Not only this, Trishna has also signed three other big budgeted Bollywood flicks.

Asin missed a chance to join the league that includes big names like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Manisha Koirala and Madhavan due to her love for non-vegetarian dishes.

The big brands are running behind the pretty actress to cash-in on her success both in South and North regions. And recently, even PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal approached the actress to be their brad ambassador, but Asin had to refuse their offer since she is a strict non-vegetarian.

Asin has badly injured her right leg while practising her martial arts Kalaripayattu in Kerala.

The leg, apparently, was so swollen that Asin could hardly move let alone walk the ramp at a film awards event that was to take place a few days later.

However, a commitment is a commitment. That’s what this spunky South Indian lass has been taught by her parents. So off she went limping to Macau all alone, and hiding it so well that no one knew the pain she was going through. Adding to her pain is the fact that Asin takes no allopathic medicines.

Here is good news for Asin’s fans.

The big news doing the rounds is that the renowned Singapore-based International Tamil Film Awards (ITFA) will honor the South Indian beauty on May 16.

Asin will get an award in the best actress category for Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus ‘Dasavathaaram’ at Singapore Expo Max Pavilion.

 
The Hindi version of the film ‘Dasavathaaram’ hit theatres this Friday.
