Adnan Sami all set to entertain

Adnan Sami had been recovering from his painful knee operation and weight loss program and this might have kept him away for the eyes of his fans for long. He was last heard singing for John Abraham in ‘Meter Down’ in ‘Taxi No 9211’. The song was awesome and so was the response it had received. After long Adnan will wield the mike once again for John Abraham. He has sung for Anurag Kashayp's ‘No Smoking’. Not only this Adnan Sami is all set to release his next album. There had been reports about Adnan working on his next album for sometime now. It has been learnt that the new album is almost ready and will hit the stands in January next year. The album is called ‘Kisi Din’ and is a treat for his eagerly waiting fans loaded with 12 tracks unlike the 8 track albums. The songs are entertaining, peppy and will reflect the happy frame of his life. After the sneak peek, the wait is indeed getting longer for us

Under threat: Adnan Sami

There's widespread speculation in the music industry that Adnan Sami might pull his forthcoming album out of T Series as he is feeling threatened by Himesh Reshammiya. Adnan feels that the Himesh factor might tilt the scales against his forthcoming album Kissi Din.

"If Himesh is like a hurricane I'm more of a storm," says Adnan who's ready with his first non-film album in three years. The album, to be released in January 2007, is a T Series release and comes at a time when Himesh rules the company.

"There's no doubt that Himesh has ushered in a new sound. I'd like to believe I did the same eight years ago. Music listeners are constantly in search of a change. Himesh provided that change. Having said that, I must say my association with T Series goes back to long before Himesh came onto the scene. It's unlikely that Bhushan Kumar who's an astute business-man would allow his supposed fondness for Himesh's music to colour his judgement."

More so, Adnan's latest album will come at a time when Adnan has never felt better having lost all that weight. "I feel the change. My weight is now down to 90 kgs and I intend to finally keep it steady at 70 kgs. Though listeners might not discern the change in my voice quality I know how much more invigorated I sound."

Adding to his happiness are Adnan's two new pet dogs. "My two pups Jazz and Rock have driven away my blues. They're the centre of my universe."

At this stage of his life, Adnan is ready for love. "I now realise how much I've missed having love around. Now that I've all the male company that I need (the canines) I'm ready for love."

He was invited as a member of the jury of the prestigious music festival "Voice of Asia" competition held annually at Almaty, Kazhakstan. This jury comprises of top music composers of the world. Adnan has been educated in Britain where he first studied at the Prestigious Public Shool called "Rugby School". He went on to graduate from the University of London, througout developing his musical style and technique on the Piano and thus evolving a new sound which he pioneered and ultimately introduced to the world thus becoming the first person to play Indian Classical music on the electric Piano.

Reviewing a Piano solo performance Adnan had given on the Channel 4 in the UK, the famours American magazine "Keyboard" declared him the "Keyboard Discovery of The 90s". Popularly referred to as the fastest Keyboard player in the world, this observation was first made by the Swedish Radio and Television Broadcasting. Adnan Sami has been featured in a documentary recently commissioned by the Foreign and Common Wealth Office of Great Britain amongst exclusive ten famous names from the sub-continent of India and Pakistan, who have influenced the Asian culture in the UK over the last fifty years.

As a classical concert pianist, Adnan Sami has had the honor of giving "solo" Royal Command Performaces before such Royalty as the King of Sweden and King Hussein of Jordan. Adnan Sami sings for Anurag Kashayp's NO SMOKING

Adnan Sami has not been heard for quite a while and we hear that he has sung the first song for Anurag Kashayp's NO SMOKING. This means Adnan will be heard as the voice for John Abraham again after they gave the wonderful song 'meter down' in TAXI NO 9211.

There has been talk of Adnan Sami working on his next album for a while now and the news from his close sources is that the new album is almost ready and will be available to the public in early January. The album called as Kisi Din... will be a mega treat with as many as 12 tracks in it unlike the usual 8 track albums. After a painful knee operation and a recovery session that included a large weight loss Adnan is all set to entertain with peppy songs that reflect his happy frame of life.

Adnan Sami's secret woman


SEP 26: Singer and music director Adnan Sami is in love. It happened during his super-successful tour of the US, Canada and UK.

Adnan even had to undergo a painful knee operation in London around the same time. Luckily for him, his sweetheart was there to console him and hold his hand.



That wonderful feeling

“Yes, I am in love,” Adnan admits happily. “It’s a wonderful feeling to be in love. I love to be in love. It’s an occupational hazard. She is an actress from the Hindi film industry, whom I met during the end of my tour in London.”

Is it Ameesha Patel? “No, not at all. Those were just rumors,” he grins mischievously. So why isn’t he naming her? “When we are ready to talk, I will announce her name. Now it’s too soon….”

His new love visited him in London. And when she returned a couple of weeks ago, she decorated his Andheri flat with bouquets. “Yes, she did all that and I found it very sweet! It was a wonderfully romantic thing to do and I was very touched,” the singer admits bashfully.

What about marriage?

If Adnan marries again, this would be his third marriage. “Marriage? Who knows? Let’s go with the flow…” he tells us. Is he against the institution of marriage? “No I am not disillusioned by it. I truly believe in marriage.”

Knee surgery

Adnan underwent surgery in July. “It was the most painful moment of my life,” he shudders. “I got lymph oedema (see box), which means lymphatic fluid pooled around my knees, causing my legs to swell.

I couldn’t walk or move, as the pain was so intense. I finally underwent surgery at Cromwell Hospital in London, which lasted for four-and-a-half hours. I was in ICU for four days, on artificial respirators for three days and had to get six blood transfusions. But now I am much better and can walk around again.”

Comfort food

During the tour, Adnan had decided to lose weight, but had to postpone the idea because of the operation. Because of “certain emotional disturbances in my life,” the singer had become “a voracious eater. Once I started, it was impossible to control my weight.”

Now that he is in love again will he stick to the diet? “Darling, when did I decide to go on a diet?” Adnan laughs.

“My father always told me, ‘son, whatever you do, you’ve got to have a sense of humor’. Seventeen years ago, when my dad had cancer and had been operated on, I asked him what he wanted. He said, ‘I could do with a stiff Scotch!’ I was amazed at his spirit and courage.

New album

Adnan is composing music for a couple of films. “My next album will also be ready for release by next year,” he says. He is also preparing for his next tour, in Australia. “I have never been there but I have heard it’s a wonderful place.”
  
Twice unlucky

Adnan Sami went through a messy divorce with Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar, followed by a bitter custody battle for their only child, Azaan Khan, which he lost.

He then married Dubai-based Safa Galadhari in 2001. The couple divorced a year-and-a-half later. Says Sami, “It was a mutual decision. Things just weren’t meant to be. It was one of those situations where no one was to blame.”

What causes lymph oedema?

Oedema, an abnormal accumulation of fluid and protein in body tissues, results from a disorientated balance between the flow and discharge of fluid. Lymph oedema, a chronic disorder, can be sub-divided into:

1. Primary lymph oedema: It is inherited at birth. The lymph vessels and/or nodes, have not been well constructed resulting in the flow and discharge of the lymph fluid being insufficient, most commonly in the legs.

2. Secondary lymph oedema: It is inflicted; the lymph vessels and/or nodes have been damaged or removed. Examples are arm oedema (after a breast operation); fluid (taken) from the leg after a gynecological operation; and oedema after the removal of a melanoma.

In these cases, the lymph glands have been removed, resulting in damage to the lymph vessels and putting fluid discharge under pressure. Secondary lymph oedema can also be caused by serious grazes, infections and joint operations.

Is Adnan in love with Amisha?

Singer-musician Adnan Sami has admitted that he has begun to re-discover love with a top Bollywood actress. Speculations are rife that Adnan’s mystery girl could be Amisha Patel .

Latest reports quote Adnan as confessing that he is looking forward to a “durable” and “everlasting” relationship with an actress who accompanied him on the last lap of his world concert last month.

From this hint thrown by Adnan, it appears that Amisha Patel might be the girl he is talking about since she accompanied him on his Agra concert at Taj Mahal last month.

Adnan says he felt like Shah Jahan at the concert and had his Mumtaz Mahal by his side. But he refuses to disclose her name.

“It's too early to talk about her. We're just beginning to discover each other,” Adnan is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has refuted the possibility of Amisha having a relationship with Adnan. Vikram said he and Amisha are already in love and would have made a formal announcement if Amisha wasn’t busy in her career.

Amisha to do Adnan Sami's music video

Amisha Patel will act in the first music video of singer-composer Adnan Sami’s next album titled Kasam.

Adnan Sami has, in the past, made videos with Bollywood actresses like Rani Mukherjee , Raveena Tandon , Namrata Shirodkar and Mahima Chaudhary .

Now for the first video of his forthcoming album he has roped in Amisha Patel.

In the video, Amisha plays a dance student who is attracted towards a musician played by Sami. The video will also have choreographer Terence Lewis, who plays Amisha's dance master and a man who has crush on her.

The video will be directed by Bala Sehgal, who previously directed all of Sami’s videos. Bala is director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister.

Adnan Sami Khan (1995)

Adnan sami Khan is always a delight to hear. Just the way this film, "Sargam", about music and love is made with style and a difference, the songs are also soft, soothing and touching. After a long time we have some filmi music which one can sit back and listen to and remember with fondness. Adnan is one Pakistani musician-cum-singer who is original, and a genius who has done us proud.

Sargam's exquisite orchestration is the result of the recordings having been done in London's Park studios. Asha Bhosle, the nightingale from our neighbourhood, has teamed up with Adnan and we have some excellent numbers by them on "Sargam", the soundtrack. Although not of Asha's calibre, Adnan has not been too overshadowed by her and shown that he is way ahead of his contemporaries.

The opening "Dholki" by Adnan and Asha is a catchy number which will soon become famous at our weddings and we would have people dancing to it rather than the oft-repeated Indian songs. The other songs, "Pyar Hai", "Bheega Mausam", "Barse Badal", "Aankhein", and "Pyar Bina", are beautiful love numbers with the flavor of the rain in some of the songs to add up to the romance. "Dekha Tumko" brings the East and the West closer, and includes Maharaj Ghulam Hussain's Kathak toras. Hadiqa Kiyani, the new voice in the album, has shown a lot of potential as well.

"Sargam" the film and the album will definitely go a long way in bringing back people to the cinema and classical music, and so far the album is a success.

Adnan Sami Khan is know for his singing more than his composition so it was interesting that T Series decided to take him as the solo music composer for this album. It's well know that Adnan's name added to your soundtrack will guarantee a hit but, can this expectation be translated to an entire film score.
Adnan didn't have to do much to prove that he really is a maestro because the opening track  Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam has the word hit written all over it. The song may appear to be simple but it's classy musical arrangement takes it to another level. Udit Narayan has done full justice to the song but Anuradha was really not on form.

For the second track called Sun Zara, Adnan opted for a synthesised beginning but then went back to using classical instruments which resulted in the song having a mystical and haunting feel. The background singing in the song reminds you of an opera and is interwoven to perfection. Of the two versions its Adnan's that adds depth and character to the song.

Adnan and Asha go a long way so it was inevitable that she would feature on the soundtrack and what a better way than to give her the western song Lucky Lips to sing. The blend of Indo Western music is elegantly used in this song and Ashaji's rendition is superb.
For the song Adnan used an orchestra which can only be described as pure genius and gives the album a young and urban  feel. Adnan continues the western and classical theme in the song Chori chori chupke- Alka and Sonu turn this song into a light and frothy duet.

The album wouldn't be complete without  a duet from Adnan and  instead Asha this time he is joined by Lata for the song Shayad Yehi Pyar. The use of the soft pipe organs and the vocals of duo turn this ordinary love song into a duet full of emotions.

Although Hum Deewane is a swift and spirited track its composition is quite average. The contemporary treatment is difficult to get to grips with especially the Bolshoi mix that is used during the middle of the track. Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal deliver just what is expected, but maybe Shreya or a Sunidhi could have been more convincing.  Suffice to say one average track in an album full of hits is expected. Lucky can only be described as one of the best soundtracks of the year thus proving that the maestro has lived up to hsi reputation.

Adnan who's ready with his first non-film album in three years. The album, to be released in January 2007, is a T Series release and comes at a time when Himesh rules the company.

Well there is no comparison ......... one album in three years .. HR would have realsed 300 albums in this time period
