Deepika Padukone & her motichoor laddoos
Ranbir to Deepika - I love you Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have decided to go public with their relationship at last.
At the 53rd Filmfare awards function, we actually caught them saying I love you to each other, backstage.
The couple came together backstage and stood huddled waiting for their entry. Probably to alleviate the tension, Ranbir looked deep into Deepikas eyes and whispered, I love you. Deepika smiled and whispered right back, I love you too. They thought no one had heard them. (They forgot that walls have ears.)
After the awards function, both of them headed for Farah Ali Khans party, where they held hands and snuggled up to each other through the night.
Later they even kissed each other with abandon, making no bones about their feelings for each other. They know that we all know about their love. And they dont care. Way to go, Ranbir, Deepika.
The two got close during the shoot for Siddharth Anands film in Australia. Cupid hammered his final blow there. Since then, they have been pretty much together

Deepika Padukone & her motichoor laddoos
Holla my eggies. Oof, my bheja has become a masala omelette with all the mirch, pudina and kothmir I'm listening to my sakhi who was on an afternoon flight, Mumbai to Goa the other day Our darling Deepika Padukone was speaking in a hushed voice as the Jet Airways flight was to take off. But the take-off took a while (tarmac pe traffic congestion). My friendoo was sitting pretty close to Deepika and could hear every word she was saying to Ranbir Kapoor. Friendoo recorded the conversation on her mobile.. eeeesh, I made her erase it as soon as I heard it, of course because I'm so nice. Now, I'm NOT about to tell you all the mazedaar endearments that were whispered. I'll just sell the romantic mush to Dada Yash Chopra to use for dialogue in his next movie, if ever makes one that is. Like Aaina Singh I'd even design the brocade costumes for Dada and title the movie Veer Zari. Anyway back to Deepiku, she whispered and she whis- pered. As soon as the flight landed. she continued the 14 ///Sporthan., mai wouldn't stup till she met the subject of her affection. Ranboo was waiting to receive her at the airport and escorted her to a waiting nar Hull gallant. no? They must have picked this up from Vyjjy who starts crying if my flight is even a minute late. Friendoo, who's such a knowall, couldn't find out what Deepiku and Ranboo were doing in Goa. Shooting-booting or what? According to intensive research, they were there to attend a wedding. Not theirs, silly. Loads of years and decades for that.. hmmm.

Deepika Padukone & her motichoor laddoos
A die-hard Rishi Kapoor fan, Deepika Padukone, the star of 2007 blockbuster ‘Om Shanti Om', had to pinch herself when she met him - not as a fan but his son Ranbir's girlfriend. "It's amazing. But in his younger days, my dad (badminton champ Prakash Padukone) was often told he resembled Rishi Uncle. I grew up as one of his fans, saw 'Karz' and 'Kabhi Kabhie' a number of times. When Ranbir took me to meet his parents, I was reliving my childhood images of the most compatible couple I've ever seen on screen." Ranbir's parents have taken to her in a big way. "Rishi Uncle is so warm. As for Neetu Aunty, she has a natural grace and charm about her. She's very poised and articulate. I've met her many more times than I've met Rishi Uncle. We're going to be working together. We read a script together recently. He's so passionate about cinema. I've so much to learn from him." She is full of praise for the Kapoor couple for their children's upbringing. "Both Ranbir and his sister Riddhima have been brought up with the right values. They come from such an illustrious family and yet they're so down-to-earth. So is she looking at a life ahead of Ranbir? "Right now, we both have our careers to focus on. But we're both very comfortable in our relationship. Now that we've come out in the open about our relationship, our parents are very happy. Beyond that, it's too early to talk about marriage."

Deepika Padukone & her motichoor laddoos
Deepika and Ranbir engaged? At least this is what their families have to say. As the rumors of the duo getting engaged was doing rounds, papa Padukone was terribly irritated,It’s not just Mr. Padukone but also Ranbir’s dear sister who has a statement,“These are all stupid rumors. I don’t know where they get such bizarre news from! Deepika seems to have been misquoted and nothing of the sort has happened. Ranbir is out of India for a film shoot and he was so surprised when he heard about this. In fact, he was shocked! Both of them have a long way to go and it is just the beginning of their careers! Marriage to bahut dur ki baat hai .” When contacted member of the family with the experiences from the industry, Neetu Kapoor said, “I am sure that Deepika has been misquoted. This is a part of film industry life. Kuch na kuch to hota rahta hai. I don’t react to all this at all. That’s because I have gone through this myself and with my husband. I have been connected to some hero or the other. My husband cannot flirt because he is not that type. I guess one just has to laugh it off!”
Looks like Deepika and Ranbir can be left in peace now, at least for some time. You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0 feed. You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Deepika Padukone & her motichoor laddoos
Hi my motichoor laddoos. I've suddenly developed this craving for sweet edibles this summer... but this silly Vyjjy is still nibbling at my lovely ear lobes as if they were barfis. Anyway, at this rate he'll soon turn diabetic. Always indulge yourself within limits I say Which is why I so adore Deepika Padukone. Nowadays, her figure is nearly as hot as mine... and she talks smart too. Okay, some sizzler pix of her with Upen Patel were displayed on the satellite channels. But she kept her head kulfi kool. Chatting from Bangkok, she waved off those pix airily stating that they were shot for designer Wendell Rodricks. She added that Ranbir Kapoor has seen all her modelling portfolio pix and wasn't upset with her at all.

Deepika Padukone - ‘I'm simple girl from respectable family...loose talk harms my reputation' |
By Subhash K. Jha-MUMBAI | ‘O m Shanti Om' girl Deepika Padukone is annoyed with the press for publish ing stories about her romantic link-ups, saying they will dent her reputation and cause future embarrassment. "The media needs to be a little restrained. I am a simple girl and from a respectable family. And loose talk about me harms my reputation," Padukone, who will be seen in ‘Chandni Chowk to China', told IANS in an interview. "One day, like any other girl, I intend to settle down and have children. How would those write-ups look at that time? I'm so glad I've found a man who comes from the same space and understands the pitfalls of sensational journalism." Padukone, who was apparently seeing cricketer Yuvraj Singh at one time, is now reportedly set to tie the knot with Ranbir Kapoor. Ask her why she and beau Ranbir went public about their relationship, Padukone said, "Because this is the first time I've actually and truly fallen in love. Being in love is the loveliest feeling. When two people are getting close they need time to understand one another." Both of them will be seen together for the first time on screen in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno'. Following are excerpts from the interview: Q: Post ‘Om Shanti Om' how has your life changed? All this is very new for me. My father (bandminton champ Prakash Padukone) was also a celebrity, but we were never exposed to media coverage. Before I went into the modeling profession, I did go into my dad's profession - it was the expected thing. I played badminton at the national level. But I realized my heart was set on modeling. Movies weren't even in my range of vision. But after two years of modeling, I started getting film offers I was only 18 then. I didn't want to jump into anything. Q: What took you down south? You mean my Kannada film ‘Aishwarya'? I am from Karnataka and it was directed by a young and talented man, Indrajit Lankesh. And I was paired with a huge Kannada star, Upendra. Q: Did you speak your own lines? Yes, I did. I learnt Kannada in school. Q: You started with Shah Rukh Khan as a co-star. Can it get any bigger? I hope it does. Initially, I was very nervous about working with him. But Farah and Shah Rukh made it very comfortable for me. Q: You have acquired the reputation of being extremely choosy. Yes, every project takes up so much of your time. You've to be sure of what you're doing. So often I say no because I don't have the time. I meet every director who wants to meet me. I do consult my parents. It would be unfair to distance them from my career just because they aren't part of the entertainment industry. |

Re: Deepika Padukone & her motichoor laddoos
"Love makes the song even more special": Deepika By Devansh Patel, Bollywood Hungama Tuesday, July 29 2008 You can't be a film old and then get so lucky. First film with Shahrukh Khan's production, Red Chillies and second with Yash Raj Films. I guess by the time Deepika is ten films old; she would have worked with Indian Film Industry's top ten production houses. And that is exactly where the problem lies. While the new generation of actors, have exploded themselves like a comet in Bollywood, what remains to be seen is how long they do last in India's most competitive and fierce professions. Well, Deepika Padukone thinks she will. In an exclusive interview, the dimpled beauty speaks on whether Bachna Ae Haseeno will be her boyfriend's first big hit. Whether Bipasha and Minissha are a complete mis-match for Ranbir, will she last as long as Aishwarya Bachchan, what makes the song "Khuda Jaane" so special, whether she will work with SRK again. Deepika has the answers for you. How different is it to be working with your off screen boyfriend on screen? It doesn't really make much of a difference because at the end of the day when you're working and you're a part of the film, you are not really looking at whether he is your boyfriend or not because you're in your work space at that moment.
Your debut film took you to a lavish red carpet premiere in London. Where is Bachna Ae Haseeno going to take you?
Well I don't know what Yash Raj has planned for this film but I'm sure it will go somewhere as far as the premiere is concerned and for the film, it will go places.
While Siddharth Anand's previous two films were big hits, Ranbir's Saawariya was a complete no-no. Will Bachna Ae Haseeno be Siddharth's hat-trick of hits and Ranbir's first big hit? Most definitely. That's what I believe. I think we all have worked really hard but more than us, Ranbir and Siddharth have worked that little extra to add in the best in the film. I hope and pray that they both get what they want from Bachna Ae Haseeno.
As far as the pairing goes, don't you think Bipasha and Minissha are a bit of a mis-match combo for Ranbir? (Laughs) I am not in charge of casting here. But the way the story is, the script goes, there are other characters required in the film and both Bipasha and Minissha have done a great job in the film, whatever little I have seen of the film. That's all I can say.
Brief us about your experience with Ranbir in different cities around the world you've travelled for the film. Well, I only got to work with him in Sydney and then for the song "Khuda Jaane" in Italy. So both were great experiences. In Sydney, we were there for almost 25 days and there we were shooting the scenes. Italy was great fun too. It was 10 days of shooting this lovely romantic song in these beautiful locations. I don't think I would have discovered this beautiful place had we not shot this song there and now since we have discovered it, it's a place I would like to go for a holiday or honeymoon. The most exciting part of shooting this song was that we would shoot everyday and travel in the evening to another location set up in the next place and shoot again the whole day, I don't think anyone has ever travelled so much to shoot one song.
So is marriage on the cards?
I'm not thinking of marriage as of now. Definitely not at the moment.
"Khuda Jaane" sung by Kay Kay is slowly steadily topping the charts and we know that the song means a lot to you and Ranbir.
The fact that both Ranbir and me are in love makes the song even more special because shooting the song made it lot more easier. It was a nice experience because it was the first time that we both were shooting for a romantic song together. I'm so glad that Vishal and Shekhar have managed to compile such a beautiful song for us with meaningful lyrics.
We seem to give a lot of credit to music directors and forget the choreographer and the cinematographer who are responsible to make the song visually perfect.
Most definitely. In fact, the day the song released, people started calling us from around the world and sent us messages that the song is looking lovely and is a big hit in all the cities. Having said that, the three people I called up first after the news broke out was Ahmed Khan, the choreographer, Sunil Patel, the cinematographer and my director Siddharth Anand for giving us such a beautiful song.
Tell us a bit about your costumes. Looking quite elegant, I should say.
Yes because my character is a young girl, an NRI who lives in Sydney. She is very trendy and forward in terms of fashion but at the same time, she is traditional in a way. So keeping all these aspects in mind the costumes were made and when you have a designer like Akki Narula on board, I don't think one really needs to worry about being styled in a certain way because I completely trust him. I've worked with him when I was a model and I'm really glad that I got to work with him in my second film.
From the female lead, only Aishwarya Bachchan at the moment is dominating in Bollywood having come from the modeling background. A few more like Dia Mirza, Celina Jaitley and Sushmita Sen too have made a mark. Will you be as lucky as they are?
Hopefully. Ash is someone I definitely look up to. She is someone I've really learnt a lot from and I used to watch her endorsements, her films and her modeling career right from the time she started off when I was very little and young. I also remember watching her when she won the Miss World. If my career goes the same way as Aishwarya's, it's going to be a huge compliment for me.
Yash Raj Films are going through their worst phase in film production. Will Bachna Ae Haseeno bring a smile back to the big banner?
I think it's wrong to generalize. Everyone goes through a bad phase. I appreciate the fact that Yash Raj Films tried to do something different in terms of the kind of films that they made in the last year or two. Some films work and some films don't work but we all have worked really hard on Bachna Ae Haseeno and hope it does well for us and Yash Raj.
After having won rewards and awards for Om Shanti Om, how loyal are you going to be towards Red Chillies Production?
(Laughs) Yes. Shahrukh Khan and I are working in a song together because Red Chillies is producing a film for Priyadarshan called Billoo Barber, which also stars SRK. And I've been fortunate enough to star in a song opposite SRK. I don't know the name of the song but they are still working on the song and the concept.
Have you shared screen space with Bipasha and Minissha in Bachna Ae Haseeno?
No. We've shot for a promotional song together and you will see all of four of us together but apart from that I'm not really in charge of creative. I agreed to do the film because I liked the character and a bit of the script that was narrated to me. I wanted to be a part of this film and I did what I wanted to do.
The last time I saw your dad, Mr. Prakash Padukone, was in London for your films premiere. How much of him takes over your decision to choose or not to choose the film you do?
A lot. I talk to my parents everyday and every move that I make, every endorsement that I do, every film that I do and my everyday activities are all discussed with them. My parents just don't prefer being in the limelight. They prefer being in the back seat and taking care of my career. My dad handles my finances. Today I wouldn't have been here had my parents not supported me the way they have.
Any memorable moments you spent in Sydney with Ranbir?
We did a lot of sight seeing in Sydney but apart from that, we also enjoyed a lot in Italy where we shot “Khuda Jaane". When we were shooting for the song, there is this one sequence where there are a lot of pigeons. There is a shot when I turn and the pigeons fly around me. So getting the scene right was very difficult because they had to put pigeon food on my hand before the shot. And these twenty five to thirty pigeons would come and sit on me and before the camera rolled, I could see all these pigeons crawling on my hand and by the end of it I'd have little scratches on my arm. But that was a lovely experience as I am pretty frightened about these things.
And how was your lovely experience of working with Yash Raj Films? Did you take Mr. Yash Chopra's blessings?
I am very glad that I got to work with the Yash Raj banner so early in my career and looking forward to doing more films with them. I met both Yashji and Adi several times.
Any message for the readers?
Well all I'd like to say is be happy, believe in yourself and enjoy your work.

Re: Deepika Padukone & Her Motichoor Laddoos
Ranbir cuts ties with Sonam for Deepika By: Subhadeep Bhattacharjee Tuesday, April 1 2008
The biggest casualty of Ranbir Kapoor's affair with Deepika Padukone has been his relationship with Saawariya costar Sonam Kapoor. The two stars who had once been very close friends are not in talking terms anymore. There are rumours that the two Kapoors haven't spoken to each other for the past three months.
Sonam had tried keeping in touch with her friend but Ranbir did not answer to her calls and messages. This made Sonam upset and she cut off all ties with Ranbir. Sonam and Ranbir had been romantically linked after the release of Saawariya and the two were also seen together on many occasions. The affair however met a silent death once Ranbir started shooting in Australia with Deepika. It is well known that Deepika Padukone is not too fond of Sonam Kapoor and had onces accused her of being just another celebrity child. Deepika who is known to be very possessive about her boyfriend is not in favour of him keeping in touch with Sonam. It is quite obvious that Ranbir doesn't want to irritate his ladylove by keeping in touch with Sonam Kapoor.

Deepika: The sexiest woman in the world! |
While only in the limelight for one year, Deepika Padukone has already made quite the splash. And now, Bollywood's fresh catch just got a little bigger. Maxim-India, the men's lifestyle magazine, has released its first ever Maxim Hot 100 List, and Deeps comes out smelling like roses. The Om Shanti Om star was voted the World's Sexiest Woman, beating Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Aiswarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Anna Kournikova. 'I hope I live up to it' |
At a time when many pundits have gifted 'top heroine' status to Kareena and Katrina, Deepika might use her Maxim victory as a way to build momentum before her second film, Bachna Ae Haseeno, which is set for an August 15 release. As for being named India's number 1 hottie, Deepika expressed shock and gratitude in a recently released press statement. 'To be honest, personally I never thought of myself as 'sexy' or 'hot' but if that's the call that people have taken, then I hope I live up to it. I am so excited about this,' she said. Anup Kutty, editor of Maxim-India, said Deepika was selected because, "apart from her huge fan following with the new generation of Indians, she also has the potential to be an international face."

Deepika gets tattooed! |
But all you bachelors out there, don't get your hopes up. The actress has tattooed 'RK' on the nape of her neck, for her beau, Ranbir Kapoor. Evidently, this isn't puppy love, as, like diamonds, tattoos are forever! Well, at least there are always pictures.

Re: Deepika Padukone & Her Motichoor Laddoos
Deepika Padukone - 'It was an amazing experience connecting with my NRI fans in New York' | By Bhargavi Kulkarni |
B ollywood actress Deepika Padukone was recently in New York as the grand marshal for the 28th annual India Day Parade in Manhattan, New York. After pursuing a successful career in modeling, Padukone branched out into acting. She started by starring in the music video for the song Naam Hai Tera from the independent pop album 'Aap Kaa Surroor' by Himesh Reshammiya. In 2006, she made her cinematic debut in the Kannada film, 'Aishwarya' opposite actor Upendra. She later made a successful Bollywood debut in 2007 with Farah Khan's 'Om Shanti Om' opposite Shahrukh Khan. Padukone's performance was well received, earning the actress a ‘Filmfare Best Female Debut Award' as well as her first ‘Filmfare Best Actress' nomination. Padukone's most recent film is Siddharth Anand's 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', also starring Ranbir Kapoor, Minnisha Lamba and Bipasha Basu which released on August 15. She is currently working on Nikhil Advani's 'Chandni Chowk To China' opposite Akshay Kumar. Padukone spoke to members of the South Asian media about her past films and her experiences in New York at the Raddisson Lexington Hotel in Manhattan, NY on August 19. Following are excerpts from the interview: Q: How did you feel marching in the parade as the grand marshall? It was indeed an honor and a matter of great pride for me to be invited as the grand marshal of the parade in New York. I was representing my country and it was my responsibility to present it in the right way. Q: What were your experiences? I was completely shocked to see so many Indians. I almost forgot I was in New York! People have been so caring and so loving, its very heartening to see that. Everyone here is so grounded. It was an amazing experience connecting with my NRI fans. I absolutely did not expect that kind of turn out for the parade. At the end of the day, I'm satisfied to know that I can connect with audience of all ages. It gives me the drive to do better. Q: What are the films you are currently working on? I'm working on Nikhil Advani's film 'Chandi Chowk to China' with Akshay Kumar. An out and out action film, written by Sridhar Raghavan, it is the first Indian film to be produced by Warner Brothers. I play a double role in the film. I also begin work on a yet untitled film by Imtiaz Ali opposite Saif Ali Khan. Q: You have entered Bollywood with a bang, featuring opposite the hottest star of today? How has your journey been so far? It has been a great journey, very exciting. I started my career with modeling. 'Om Shanti Om' was a great way to start a career. But now I have the added responsibility of working hard as there are a lot of expectations from me. Q: How has it been working with two established actors Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar? They both are extremely different human beings, but their confidence levels, the way they carry themselves on the sets, their energy is amazing. Both of them made me completely at ease and working with them was a learning experience as well as pleasure. Q: How was it working with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno'? It was a very different experience working with Ranbir. He is like me, two films old. But he comes from a film family. He has grown up on Hindi films. Both of us learned a lot from each other. Q: Was it different dating Ranbir and acting in a film with him? At this point I do not want to comment of this. Actually, a lot has been written about our relationship. I'm not sure how much has been written here, but in India a lot has been said. Q: Your comments on how the film is doing? You guys tell me. The film was released when I was here in New York. But according to reports the film seems to be doing well. I have been very satisfied with the film. But of course there is always enough room to learn, explore and improve. Q: Any particular directors, actors you wish to work with? Everyone coming to the industry is so talented, it is difficult to say. But among directors I would like to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mani Ratnam, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowarikar …. God! I hope I'm not forgetting anyone. Q: Coming from a sports background and being a sports person, what do you think about India's success in the Olympics? India has a lot of talent in different sports. But cricket is the only sport that gets too much attention. It's good that now with India's success in the Olympics, other sports such as shooting, boxing, wrestling are also getting attention. Q: How has your sports background helped you in Bollywood? Sports has definitely taught me grace and dignity. I hate looking clumsy on screen, be it dancing, or action, which I have done a lot for ‘Chandni Chowk to China.'
