'I'm too old for films'Last updated on: August 27, 2010 Talking about her experience shooting for the ad, Gauri said "I have not worked so hard in my life. I am so tired that I have been sleeping for two days straight." Asked if she would have featured in the commercial with any other actor, she replied, "I am in this project because of my husband. It was a home concept and it would be awkward for me to feature in it with any other man." When quizzed whether she would want to try out acting in a film after working in a television commercial, she shot back, "I am too old for films. If I was younger, I would have considered." 'I watch regional movies on DVD at home'Last updated on: August 27, 2010Source:rediff.com Can you comment on the demand of prime slots for Marathi movies in multiplexes? Regional films are made with a small budget and should be encouraged. I am speaking as a film person and do not want to get into the political agenda. I watch regional movies on DVD at home. Even though language is a problem, I feel the best stories come from the regional industry. There should also be sub-titles so that these movies can get more recognition. Are you doing anything on television? I am discussing a few shows but nothing is finalised as yet. I am busy with my film shootings. Image: Shah Rukh Khan

'I hope Tees Maar Khan becomes a bigger hit than Om Shanti OmLast updated on: August 27, 2010 There were reports that everything is not fine between you and close friend Farah Khan. If I am not doing any film with my friends, it does not mean that we are no longer friends. When I am shooting with someone, I am more in touch with him or her. This time I am not in touch with Farah but wish her all the success and hope her Tees Maar Khan becomes a bigger hit than Om Shanti Om. I want to see everyone doing well. Will you watch Salman Khan's upcoming film Dabangg? The promos and songs look interesting. Last week, I saw Lafangey Parindey. I will watch Dabangg at home after my children's exams. 'I am very protective about my family'Last updated on: August 27, 2010 Rajul Hegde in Mumbai Shah Rukh Khan was in full form on Thursday as he cracked jokes with the media during a press conference to announce his wife, Gauri, as the brand ambassador of a furnishing brand, D'decor. The actor, who seems to have lost a lot of weight after returning home from a 70 day hectic schedule of Ra.One in London, shot for the ad with his wife. He even tweeted about how nervous he was about shooting with her: 'Preparing for a "big shoot" 2maro. No it's not ra.one with ten cameras. it is with Gauri for D decor brand furnishings. very nervous (sic),' he tweeted a day earlier. But there was no sign of nervousness at the launch where Rajul Hegde got to fire some quick questions at the star and his wife. Excerpts: How did you convince Gauri to do the commercial? The decision was entirely hers. That is what trust and love is all about. Gauri did not feature in this ad for money. She has interest in furnishing. The owners of the brand are family friends, so she was comfortable. I am very protective about my family and would not let them work in an uncomfortable environment. Do you give any inputs to Gauri in decorating the house? I can tell whether it looks good or bad but I cannot make any decision. Which is your favourite corner in your house? My children's bedrooms. Whenever I have time, I am either in my daughter's pink bedroom or son's blue bedroom. Both of us end up spending more time in our children's bedrooms. I like spending time in the library as well, to do all my creative work. Image: Shah Rukh Khan Photographs: Pradeep Bandekar

A.R. Rahman asked to tweak CWG theme song Posted by IANS-CT in Bollywood New Delhi, Aug 21 (Calcutta Tube) Oscar winner A.R. Rahman is ready with the Commonwealth Games theme song but the Group of Ministers (GoM) on the Games has asked the composer to tweak it before the opening ceremony.
‘I presented the theme song before the GoM and it was approved. I have been asked to tweak it and it will be released within next 10 days,’ Rahman told reporters here. ‘I think it won’t be good to release the theme song without making the necessary changes,’ he said when asked about the song. Beginning with the words ‘Oh yaaro, India bula liya’ (Friends, we have called you to India), the song is composed mostly in Hindi with a sprinkle of English. While Rahman will be the lead singer of the theme song, there will be other songs as well for the Commonwealth Games, including one dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and another to the ‘key of knowledge’. ‘The song is about India, about energy, winning and not giving up. We want the crowd to sing along with us at the opening ceremony. It is simple but not simplistic,’ he said. Asked how different it was from Shakira’s popular football World Cup anthem ‘Waka Waka’, Rahman said: ‘It is not ‘Waka Waka’. We wanted to go beyond it. It is complex, difficult to explain but I am sure you will like it when you hear it.’ Rahman said he was initially apprehensive about whether the GoM would like the song. ‘I was a little bit apprehensive if they will like it because the GoM consists of aged people but they all liked and approved it,’ he said. Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi and filmmaker Shyam Benegal, who is a member of the core committee of the Commonwealth Games, were present on the occasion. The GoM chaired by Urban Development Minister S.Jaipal Reddy met for the first time Sunday after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh intervened to take stock of the much-criticised preparations for the Oct 3-14 Games. The three-hour long GoM meeting also discussed other details related to the opening ceremony besides giving approval to the theme song composed by Rahman.

Saira Menezes, Editor PEOPLE Favourite cover: One of my all-time favourite covers is an early issue featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. It was their first-ever joint interview after stepping out as a couple. The interview and the photo-shoot was magical, as they were relaxed and at ease with each other, reflecting their fresh romance. For PEOPLE, which, at that time, was only three issues old, the exclusivity with the two stars made the story a huge get. The madness behind the cover: Stardom being what it is these days, the burgeoning entourage is inevitable. Broadly speaking, earlier you would have the magazine team, the photographer, the star secretary, the make-up man and the hair stylist. To that, you can now add the publicity team, the stylists' assistants and other assorted people whose job at the shoot is difficult to fathom. The best people on a shoot are those who can keep cool in any situation and who have less airs than the stars themselves. Image: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on the cover of People Magazine

N Radhakrishnan, Editor and Publisher Man's World Favourite cover: Without a doubt, Shah Rukh Khan. He has been on our cover five times in the 125 or so issues that we have done over the last 10 years. He readily agreed to be our first cover in 2000 when the magazine was still on the drawing board and he was already a big star. He was on the cover of our 100th issue, and also on the recent 10th anniversary issue. So in a sense, he has been our lucky mascot. His cover photographs always reflect the tone of the story inside. The 10th anniversary cover, for example, was shot around the time when he took a firm stand on Shiv Sena's threat to My Name Is Khan. He is very professional. An issue with him on the cover always sells. Abhishek Bachchan is also a good seller even though he hasn't had that many successful films.
Star Fuss: From what photographers and stylists tell me, it varies from actor to actor. Some are more professional than others. Everyone wants to look good so they are generally cooperative. The bigger stars always insist on working with their favourite stylists, fashion designers and photographers because of their familiarity factor.

And it's not just the scrawny girls who stick to veg food. Balan, with her full figure and delicious curves, manages to maintain her shape just fine without meat. Image: Vidya Balan

There are lots of myths about going vegetarian: about how it's hard to maintain your body type; about how a vegetarian diet lacks proteins; and about how vegetarians put on a lot of weight.
Well, to dispel those thoughts, we decided to look at Bollywood's sexiest vegetarians, two of whom starred in last week's release, Milenge Milenge:
Kareena Kapoor
She might not be size zero anymore, but clearly Kareena has no trouble staying in shape as the actress drops weight seemingly at will. Nope, that's a healthy diet for sure.

Kangana Ranaut turned up at a magazine party in this empire-waisted number that shows a lot of leg. Still, considering some of her other red carpet choices, this seems pretty tame in comparison! What do you think?

What do you think of these fashionable choices? Take our poll and let us know! We caught a few famous faces strutting their stuff around town in recent weeks at see-and-be-seen social dos and events. Who wore what and more importantly, which outfits struck out big-time? Tell us what you think! We start off with Bollywood's youngest fashionista, Sonam Kapoor, who donned this peachy polka-dotted number (by Vivienne Westwood, no less) for the music launch of her next project Aisha. Pretty or too plain? You decide.

Okay so she's hot! Even then that's too much cleavage-show for a judge. Here are a few tips we think the vibrant Sunidhi should follow in order to avoid being dubbed Queen of kitschy fashion: # Stick to clean-cut outfits in deep colours with minimal embellishments. They bring out her personality. It worked for Vidya Balan. It would work for her. # Say no to rhinestones, gaudy make-up and garish hairstyle. Sometimes simple is stylish. Introduce lip colour -- shades of brown and plum. # All the nail polish on the dressing table needs to go in the trash can. # Treat yourself to a chic pair of Louboutins in hues of black or nude. # Smile. It's every woman's best-loved accessory. Image: Sunidhi Chauhan

The forest green looks lovely on her skin. Those chandelier earrings match perfectly too. It's almost too good to be true. And there you go! Bright orange nail paint? Sorry Sunidhi, but on that dress and this decade, we don't fancy claws that remind us of yesteryear Ramsay flicks. As for those ghastly shoes, let's not even go there. Image: Sunidhi Chauhan
